Born and brought up in Delhi for generations, I plunged into journalism in 1974 after completing my masters. I am an alumnus of ( Kirori Mal College ) Delhi University and did post-graduation in History in 1974. Am among those journalists who have wide experience of working in Hindi and English print media, TV channels and social media tools too.

Presently, serving in Delhi as National Editor of the Lokmat group of newspapers which has a combined circulation of 2.2 million copies a day in English, Hindi and Marathi. Began as a stringer with the Hindusthan Samachar in 1973, I climbed up the ladder from Amrit Bazar Patrika to The Hindustan Times group to The Tribune, The Indian Express, India Today, Dainik Bhaskar group as its National Editor in Delhi (2002-04) and DNA.

In between, I switched over to electronic media and became founder Director, (News & Current Affairs) of JANMAT TV channel in 2004. It was country's first Views channel launched. Later, I founded the Information TV group and launched the INDIA NEWS, a 24X7 Hindi News Channel as its Editor-in-Chief. I switched to print again and after a brief stint at the DNA, joined the Lokmat group in 2012.

I made a humble beginning as a cub reporter covering University to Crime, Delhi Administration to political parties, Election Commission to Enforcement Directorate, CBI to bureaucracy to Parliament House to the PMO and Rashtrapati Bhawan.

During my days in University of Delhi as a student, I freelanced and wrote in several leading newspapers and magazines including The Evening News, Dainik Hindustan, Saptahik Hindustan, Youth Times, Contour, The Sunday edition of The Times India, Illustrated Weekly of India, Dharmyug, Dinman, Kadmanbini, etc.

I have the honour of working under the guidance of several veteran editors like Prem Bhatia, H.K. Dua, Manohar Shyam Joshi, V.N. Narayanan, Hari Jaisingh, Shekhar Gupta, Aroon Purie, R Jagannathan and others.

I have the honour of interviewing India's leading personalities such as Indira Gandhi, Morarji Desai, Rajiv Gandhi, V P Singh, Chandra Shekhar, H D Deve Gowda, I K Gujral Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr Manmohan Singh. I also interacted with several foreign dignitaries including Prime Ministers of Britain, Portugal , Spain , Nepal etc.

A list of major stories (under heading Top) published in various newspapers will specify the kind of work I did as a news hound and die-hard reporter. It was the passion of a reporter to break stories and shake those in power wherever they are, that continues to keep me going. It was because of this passion that made me continue with my column, FLY ON THE WALL, first in the Indian Express and later in ASIAN AGE for several years and in Lokmat too. FLY ON THE WALL was one of the most popular one in The Indian Express and remembered till today.

In TV, He used to anchor a couple of programs -- Jan Sansad, Aap Aur Hum, Khabar Par Nazar and Inside CBI (JANMAT & INDIA NEWS. He also did a program Samvaad for  Doordarshan.
